Oyo Ends Decades-Long Joint Ownership With Osun, Takes Over Total Control Of LAUTECH

Oyo State Government has finally taken total control of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) from Osun State government.

This comes after a mutual agreement was reached by governors Seyi Makinde and Gboyega Oyetola of Oyo and Osun States respectively.

The joint ownership has been a huge problem for the prestigious university which was established by the old Oyo State government over thirty-three years ago.

Named after the former premier of the Western Region in the First Republic, Ladoke Akintola within the first five years of its establishment, LAUTECH for many years has always be enmeshed in financial crisis.

This financial crisis in the institution is mostly due to lack of commitment from the two owner states.

While the Oyo State holds LAUTECH, Osun state is now in total control of the College of Health.

The taking over of the helms of the University is one of the many achievements by Governor Seyi Makinde who was elected in March, 2019.
