The Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council in Edo State, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde has been caught up in a scandalous web.
The council boss has been accused of stealing the project of his predecessor and claiming same to be his.
Osunde had erected a big signboard to claim an already executed project, Ekae Market — a market built for the people of the area.
Written on the large signboard is “A FULFILLED PROMISE” with Governor Godwin Obaseki and Osunde’s photographs on it.
However, residents of the town have claimed that the project was actually started and completed by Hon. Osaro Obazee who was Oredo Council Chairman under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s administration.
Here are some reactions as gathered by Featured24…
Liberty Ruyi wrote; “It’ll only get worse.
“Those of you who are use to Sapele Road axis of Benin City knows when this market was built.
“The project was executed by Hon. Osaro Obazee as Oredo Council Chairman under Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s administration.
“What I don’t understand is the “A FULFILLED PROMISE” with Obaseki and Osunde’s giant signboard.
“What’s all these rubbish?”
Another user wrote; “That is how they claim other people’s projects as what they have done. God’s judgment they cannot buy because it is neither in Abuja nor Benin”
“A governor that is concern only about perpetual domination and subjugation of others.
For me this whole term is to loot not to put,” a user wrote.
“There are bunch of liers, this market was built during Hon Osaro Obazee’s administration they was a problem on that land because the land belongs to the JOS Bazuwaye family since then market has not been put to use because the case was under litigation between Ekia community and Jos Bazuwaye and Oredo local government council,” another user wrote.
One wrote; “These are sign of a failed government. This isn’t the first one the governor has a passion for claiming other people’s projects.”
“Very close to my junction at Evbuabogun road I wonder what the present council chairman of Oredo is doing so shameful to him,” a user claimed.
