Governor Oyetola Mourns Late Senator Bayo Salami

Osun state governor, has mourned the death of Adebayo Hamzat Salami, the lawmaker who represented Osun Central in the Senate between 1999 and 2003, who died on yesterday.

The governor, who reacted to Salami’s passage in a statement personally signed by him and made available to Featured24 on Thursday expressed sadness over the news.

Oyetola in the statement described the Senator’s death as a huge loss.

He added that Salami’s death in not a loss only to his family and friends, but to the people of Osogbo and Osun at large.

The Governor’s statement reads in part; “Sad to learn of the passing of Baba Adinni of Osogbo and chieftain of our party, APC, Senator Adebayo Hamzat Salami.

“This is a huge loss, not only to his family and friends, but to the people of Osogbo and Osun at large.”

While condoling with the family of the late Senator and all those who mourn his demise, Oyetola prayed to God to overlook Salami’s shortcomings and also grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus.

“My prayers and thoughts are with his family and the Muslim community in Osun.

“As we mourn Baba Adinni’s demise, I pray Almighty Allah overlook his shortcomings, grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus, and give the family and all those who mourn his demise the strength to bear this loss,” his statement read.

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, Salami reportedly died in the United States of America on Thursday, January 07, 2021.

As at the time of filing this report, the circumstances leading to death of Salami remains unknown.
